DJ AHMET premieres and wins 2 prizes at Sundance Festival

DJ Ahmet, Georgi M. Unkovski’s debut film, premiered globally in the World Cinema Competition at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival on 23 January, where it received the World Cinema Dramatic – Audience Awards and World Cinema Dramatic Special Jury Award for Creative Vision.
The project participated and was developed in MFI’s Script2Film Workshops.
The story follows a 15-year-old Yuruk boy from a remote Macedonian village escapes into music amidst parental expectations, societal conservatism, and forbidden love for a promised girl.
