The MFI Script 2 Film Programme, established in 2000, has supported the development of over 500 film, documentary and series projects to date. It continues in 2026 with an online edition designed to sustain the programme’s creative momentum and support the development of bold and original projects from EU and international creative teams with a particular focus – but not limited to – the Mediterranean region.
This English Language edition is addressed to scriptwriters and producers working on projects at treatment, first-draft or advanced-draft stage who wish to further develop their work within a structured, collaborative script development framework. The MFI Script 2 Film Programme has, for over 25 years, provided writers and creative teams with the tools to strengthen their projects and engage confidently with the international market.
All lab sections will include the position of a story editor trainee. These are aimed towards industry professionals without a project who wish to develop their editorial skills through hands-on participation. Trainees are assigned the role of assistant trainer and act as co-leaders, working under the guidance of senior trainers.
